| Gene Williams Off To Dallas |
Gene
Williams will be leaving the area to take a position with
Kimberly-Clark
in Dallas, TX. Gene has been a member of the Mobile Bay Chapter for many
years and has held several chapter officer posts. On Weds, March 30th,
2005 a
luncheon was held in his honor at
Bilotti's
Italian Cafe. The chapter presented
Gene with commemorative plaques in recognition of his dedicated service to the chapter.

|
The U.S. Army Physical Security Manual is part of the study materials for
the PSP Certification program and is available for download on the website
here in PDF format. The file is
approximately 3mb in size. This is an excellent reference for basic
physical security requirements.

| Local Chapter Dues Policy Changes |
|
The chapter executive committee reviewed our chapter
dues policy and posted recommendations for the members. The policy
revisions were presented at the August 21st meeting and passed. A detailed letter
explaining the recommended changes to the dues policy can be reached by
clicking here. The new dues policy becomes effective January 1, 2003 and applies to all members. Just a reminder; local chapter dues are completely separate from ASIS International membership fees.

|
May 29th - The FBI released several documents outlining the proposed
restructuring of the bureau. Director Mueller issued the
FBI
Director's Remarks on Reorganization and
FBI Strategic Focus today.

| Chemical Industry Moves Towards Setting Standards |
|
The chemical industry recently held a seminar and workshop to develop
security standards within their industry.
The American Chemistry Council
(ACC) website has additional information on the outcome of the
workshops and progress of the developing standards. Several well written documents pertaining to security and transportation within the chemical industry are also available in Adobe PDF format on the ACC website.

| ASIS Foundation Scholarship Program |
|
The purpose of the scholarship process is to provide each ASIS chapter with a means to recognize and to promote individuals who are interested in the security profession, by providing financial assistance. Further information regarding the scholarship program is available at the ASIS website.
